A woman from New York who re-created ‘The Holiday’ and found her own Jude Law last year has revealed they are still in touch – and she might be moving to London very soon.
Last December, Camille Wyand, 25, spotted a post on Instagram advertising a home swap and was paired with Lizzie Frainier, an editor and travel writer from Tooting, south London.
After arriving in the capital, Camille met 28-year-old Paddy James (aka Jude Law) and sparks began to fly.
The pair’s story soon went viral on TikTok.
With the popular Christmas movie rumoured for a sequel – sadly, it’s not true – NTK caught up with the real life Amanda Woods in an exclusive interview and she had some dirt to dish.
“When Paddy and I met, it felt like we had known each other for years because we got along so well and loved chatting with each other,” she told NeedToKnow.Online.
“We aren’t together but we’ve remained friends and catch up from time to time.
“When The Holiday sequel was announced, I was so excited – I texted him and Lizzie about it right away and we were so disappointed after finding out it wasn’t true.
“I actually went to London in September and stayed with Lizzie, and reunited with Paddy too.
“We’re not dating but there’s a chance I might move to the UK temporarily for grad school next year so who knows if I’ll have another British romance of my own.
“After the holiday swap I actually stopped dating for a while to focus on preparing for grad school applications, I only started dating again a few month ago.
“Trying find love in a big city is definitely interesting!”
The original home swap was organised and paid for by HomeExchange and the dating service Thursday, which set Camille up with a dating profile.
That’s how she met Paddy, a technology consultant who lives in Clapham, and the pair went on a “really good” date at Mr. Whites in Leicester Square.
Speaking about her date back then, Camille told NTK: “I was really nervous but so excited, we had been texting and had great chemistry texting.
“Paddy kinda looks like Jude Law and overall he was really sweet and kind like the character, he is a great guy.
“I wasn’t expecting to hit it off so well with him like I did.”
Paddy said: “I saw Camille was flying over from the US for a house swap and was intrigued by her story, I saw her profile on the Thursday app I sent her a message about going on a date.
“The date was really good, sometimes first dates can be awkward but it felt very natural with Camille, it was really fun.”
On their second date, they went to The White Horse in Surrey, the pub that features in the movie.
At the time, Camille and Paddy’s story went viral with over 2.6 million views on TikTok, with plenty of people sharing their thoughts on the unusual set-up.
One person said: “YOU ARE LIVING MY DREAM. I wanna do his next year!”
“Voice over: ‘Amanda Woods….welcome back’,” agreed another viewer.
Someone else said: “I’m crying this is amazing please get married.”
“Oh he’s CUTTTTTEEE,” another person added.
Someone else wrote: “WHATTTTT I LOVE THIS.”
“Oh you’re KIDDING… what a dream,” added another user.
“I’m literally watching The Holiday right now,” wrote a fan of the movie.
“Wait stop, does he have a beautiful accent too?? So happy to see real people finding joy with this idea!,” commented another viewer.
As for this Christmas, Camille will spent it in New York but she’s already gearing up to watch her favourite film.
She added: “It’s a classic and one of my favorite Christmas movies.
“I love watching it every year but now it will be even more special.”
