Two young women miraculously emerged unscathed after they jumped out of the path of a runaway bus at the last second.
Shocking CCTV footage shows how the heavy vehicle hurtled down a slope and left the ground.
The two young women, who were sitting on the street corner waiting for a bus, spotted it in the nick of time.
They hurled themselves out of the way at the last second and landed flat on the tarmac.
A split-second later, the bus hit a utility pole just yards ahead and landed on its side in the middle of the crossroads.
The women were able to pick themselves up and jog away as several locals rushed towards the toppled vehicle on Tuesday (1 Oct).
Preliminary reports suggest the bus suffered brake failure as it plied its route in Bogotá, Colombia.
The fault apparently caused the driver to veer towards the kerb where the women were seated.
At the time of reporting, there were no confirmed injuries or fatalities from the accident, which is being investigated by local police.
It is not clear how many passengers, if any, were in the bus at the time, as reported by Need To Know.
One social media user commented: “Wow, those girls are really lucky. It’s a miracle they’re okay.
“It’s frustrating that no mayor in Bogotá has been able to tackle the issue of illegal transportation.”
