A hapless crook got his just deserts when the dynamite he was carrying detonated and “blew his hand off”.
CCTV footage shows him walking down a deserted street after nightfall when, all of a sudden, a huge explosion is seen.
When the smoke settles, the young man can be seen in a heap on the pavement.

His clothes appear to be torn to shreds as he picks himself up and hobbles off in the direction he came from.
The bizarre scenes unfolded on Wednesday (27 Nov) night in a district of Lima, Peru, that’s currently under a state of emergency.
Police officers and explosive experts arrived at the scene and confirmed that the device was dynamite.
The police believe the suspect is an extortionist and was taking the dynamite to a local business to leave as a threat or warning.
When it detonated in his hand, it caused damage to nearby homes, according to local media.
Despite his injuries, the man managed to reach his home about three blocks away.
His family then tried to get him to a hospital, as reported by Need To Know.
The extent of his injuries is unclear, but it is believed he sustained severe burns and his hand was likely torn off by the blast.
Reports say there are at least two businesses in the area – an ice cream shop and a textile workshop.
The authorities are investigating whether either one was in the suspect’s sights.
A second person was reportedly seen nearby fleeing the scene after the explosion.
The police are reviewing CCTV footage to try to determine if the individual was acting as an accomplice.
