A lucky newborn kitten avoided cat-astrophe after its faint meow was heard coming from beneath a moving police car.
Alert officers noticed the faint noise while driving one of the force’s response vehicles.
The motor was then taken to a garage where the female kitten was found deep in its wheel arch.

The kitten was just two days old.
Staff think its mother had climbed into the dry area and given birth.
They needed help from Kwik Fit mechanics to get to the kitten.
It was taken to the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals for a health check and was found to be in good condition.

It happened at Crownhill Police Station, Plymouth, Devon, on Sunday, (19 Oct), as reported by Need To Know.
A Crownhill Police spokesperson said: “Officers based at Crownhill Police Station have had a bit of a different shift after noticing a faint meow coming from the engine area of one of the Response Team’s vehicles this morning.”
“Obviously Police Officers are not equipped to strip a car, so it was down to the local heroes at Kwik Fit on Tavistock Road, Crownhill to save the day and rescue a two-day-old kitten from deep within the wheel arch.”
“We can only think that at some point the kitten’s mother had climbed into the dry area and given birth to this fluffy little outlaw.
“Many thanks to the lads at Kwik Fit who helped avoid a CATastrophe! And a big shout out to the PDSA for their help.
“Thanks to them the kitten will be feline much better soon.”
Crownhill Police are now appealing for name suggestions for the stowaway.
