When responders arrived in Fátima, north of Brasilia, Brazil, pilot Diomedio Aires da Silva Filho, 56, was already dead.
His passenger, José Rosário Carneiro de Oliveira, was pulled from the wreckage in critical condition and taken to a hospital in Porto Nacional.
The 52-year-old was later transferred to a larger facility in Palmas, but died the next day on Sunday (2 Nov).

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. Locals reported hearing a “loud engine noise” seconds before the aircraft went down.
Diomedio, as well as being a licensed pilot, was a qualified civil engineer, and the aircraft was registered in his name.
He and José – a former deputy mayor of Monte do Carmo from 2001 to 2004 and a trained agronomist – were friends, as reported by Need To Know.
José’s niece, Ana Clara Carneiro de Oliveira, said: “Uncle Zé was an amazing person – cheerful, funny, always full of jokes and stories.
“He was constantly running late, which earned him the family nickname ‘Speedy Gonzales’, but no one ever minded because the moment he arrived, everything instantly felt lighter.”
He leaves behind his wife and two children. He was laid to rest in Monte do Carmo on Monday (3 Nov).
Ana added: “To us, he was the perfect father, uncle, son and brother – so loving, always willing to help, and with a huge heart. Everyone adored him.
“His absence hurts so much, but Uncle Zé will live on in every happy memory, every laugh, and in all the love he left behind with us.”
The Porto Nacional Aeroclub said Diomedio had left “a legacy of friendship, camaraderie and a true passion for aviation”.
