A King’s Guard horse was spotted nearly passing out in the scorching heatwave, forcing a soldier to sound the alarm.

Tourists swarmed around the animal as it visibly struggled to deal with the sweltering sun.

The stoic King’s Guard couldn’t help but look concerned for his trusted steed, whose head continuously dropped.

The scorching heatwave, which has seen temperatures hit as high as 37C, has been hitting the nation hard this summer.

With even the King’s Guard succumbing to the intense rays from the sun.

The shocking footage taken on 12 Jul, shows one horse struggling in the heat, as reported by Need To Know.

The King’s Guard was posted outside of the Household Cavalry Museum in Whitehall, London.

Temperatures on that day peaked at a sweltering 29C.

The concerned guard quickly sounded the alarm as his horse began to struggle more and more.

A soldier was then spotted coming to the aid of the animal, leading them both back into the shade and safety of the stables.

The horse slowly made its way inside with its legs visibly shaking in the heat.

The footage shared online racked up over 200,000 views – with Brits left shocked.

One person said: “This shouldn’t be happening.”

One commenter said: “Traditional or not, common sense prevails – it’s too flipping hot for both horse and human.”

One other person said: “Shouldn’t be doing it period.
