Cabin crew eventually successfully intervened and brought the disturbance under control.
The incident happened aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight travelling from Sylhet, Bangladesh, to London on Thursday (17 September).
It reportedly began as an argument between the two passengers before escalating into a physical confrontation.
The disturbance is said to have caused alarm among fellow travellers, including children and elderly passengers.
Video recorded inside the cabin subsequently circulated on social media.
Mohiuddin Ahmed, general manager of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ public relations department, confirmed that a fight had taken place.
“The flight departed Sylhet for London this morning,” he said.
“At some point during the flight, two passengers got into a physical altercation.
“The cabin crew later intervened and resolved the situation between them.”
The cause of the initial argument has not been disclosed.
It is not currently known whether either passenger was injured or faced action after the aircraft landed.
However, the airline’s representative said it was a London-bound flight which had departed from Sylhet.
