Story from Jam Press (Baron's Palace) Pictured: Birdseye view outside of the mansion. You can now own part of a baron's PALACE – as property hits the market for first time in 40 years Once the former home of a baron, a stunning historic mansion is now for sale for the first time in 40 years. The 'Italianate palace', known as Grimston Manor, was once home to the second Baron Howden, formerly the MP for Dundalk and a commander of the British Army. Dating back to the early 1600s, Baron Howden had the home rebuilt to his liking in 1839, altering the style of the estate. Boasting over 5,500 sq ft, the six-bedroom house comes with a library, hidden doorway, vaulted wine cellar, and grand staircase. With marble flooring, large chandeliers, and ornate fireplaces, this manor is the height of luxury. Travelling down a long private drive, the property is situated on over half an acre of land, offering incredible views of the grounds and bordering countryside. “This beautifully maintained home is now on the market for the first time in over four decades, presenting a truly unique and exceptional buying opportunity," said Tim Waring, prime residential at GSC Grays. "Nestled within picturesque parkland the property retains many original features including a grand staircase while the library is now a wonderful 55ft long open plan living space. "The property's location offers the best of both worlds – a country retreat that's also conveniently located to essential local amenities and transport options.” Located two miles south of Tadcaster, there is good access to the A64 and A1 (M), as well as an easy route to several airports. The manor is currently listed with GSC Grays Boroughbridge for £1.75m. ENDS EDITOR'S NOTES Press must include hyperlink somewhere in copy [https://www.gscgrays.co.uk/] as per case study's request.
