A mum-of-two has revealed why she won’t be giving her children the MMR jab, despite concerns of them contracting the virus – as she believes the drug will do “more harm than good”.

Across the UK, there’s been a significant rise in measles cases – especially amongst children – with 233 confirmed results out of 347 occurring in those under 10.

Due to the outbreak, it’s advised for children to receive the MMR vaccine – but not all parents are on board with giving their little ones the protective dose.

Stacey Victoria, 36, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, believes that jabbing her daughters, Emily, nine, and Isabella, six, says “forcing” the potential pain of a vaccine on children is “not fair”.

“I do feel worried about my girls getting the virus, especially while at school,” the stay-at-home mum told NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“But if they do catch measles, it’ll only build their immune system naturally.

“It’s not fair on any child to force them through this pain of a vaccine just for government statistics.

“All it is for is for them to say they’ve handed out a certain amount and met their targets.

“I don’t trust them at all with any vaccines, especially ones that have been made so quickly like the MMR jab.”

Stacey, who claims she “isn’t an anti-vaxxer”, hasn’t received any jabs herself.

Nor have her kids, since birth – but the mum says it’s “each to their own”.

She added: “I wouldn’t attend campaigns against vaccines and everyone is entitled to their own opinion and how they want to protect their own family.

“But when it comes to myself and my kids, I am against them.

“I feel we can completely live a life without any vaccinations and using foods, as well as natural supplements, most diseases and viruses can be prevented.

“My concern with the jabs is the aftermath of them [my children] becoming poorly.

“I believe that by giving kids the right diet and exposing them to potential illnesses, they can be perfectly healthy in a natural way.

“We don’t know the long-term effects of the MMR vaccine and I don’t want them being injected with ingredients that their little bodies can’t take.”

The mum-of-two, who regularly shares her frugal tips, has previously spoken out about her views on families who are struggling to make ends meet.

As an avid “waste-free” household, she and her family utilise all items available, such as creating curtain rail spacers from cardboard toilet rolls.

She believes that many families aren’t “willing” to cut back on certain items or think creatively about how they can save cash – and says that people would be much better off if they “just set their minds to it”.
