It opened last November, as reported by Need To Know.

But on Saturday, the owners were left horrified after receiving an anonymous letter.

The hateful note, which was filled with spelling errors, stated that it hoped the shop would ‘fail.’

The letter, which was written in black ink, claims to be from a neighbourhood group.

The letter reads: “We try not to encourage charity shops round the area or shops selling Blackpool style trinkets.”

“A lot of businesses needed by comunitys have failed and I hope yours does too.

“Another grey painted trendy tak, soon be countdown for you.

“Shutters will be permanently down.”

The letter was addressed to “the owner” and signed off “Residents Unite (Bocking Lane)”.

Owner, Ruth Denton, 37, fumed: “Happy Saturday to us.

”It’s just a shame people don’t do their research properly.

”Thank you to the kind person that took the time to write this and send it second class.”

Local, Katie Sarah Davis said: “That’s absolutely disgusting and I hope whoever sent the letter is ashamed and embarrassed by their actions.

”You’d have thought before sending such a vile letter that whoever wrote it would have at least checked their spellings before sending.”

Richard Bayne said: “I’m really pleased they did write this letter as I didn’t know you were there.

“And now I do, I’m looking forward to visiting and supporting your amazing charity.”

”So glad you posted this, I’d never heard of your shop but will now make a point of popping in,” said Kerry Maltby.

Timothy Harris said: “I’d frame it and put it up in the window that’ll annoy whoever wrote it much more than anything else.”
