A young middle-distance runner has been left with both legs in plaster after an alleged reckless driver hit her on a pedestrian crossing and sped off.
Natalija Grujić was crossing the road outside her training facilities when she was hit.
The 18-year-old’s coach Mirjana Stojanović claimed the driver also hit several children.

The Serbian athlete, who competes in 800 and 1500m running events, ended up with both legs in plaster cast.
It happened in Belgrade, in her homeland, as reported by Need To Know.
Stojanović said:: “Everyone’s asking me ‘What happened to Natalija’?”
She claimed: “A reckless driver at a marked pedestrian crossing near the athletic ground didn’t stop but sped through, hitting innocent children.
“In a single moment, someone can shatter your dreams, plans, wishes, and goals, leaving you in a plaster cast.
“Natalija will recover, but a large number of children cross there every day, and everything should be done to make sure this is the last such incident.”
The coach added: “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Nato.”
It’s unclear if the police have tracked down the alleged hit-and-run driver.
Natalija is considered one of Serbia’s most promising athletes.
Last month, she reached the 1500m finals at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.
