A newlywed bride was struck by lightning and killed as her new husband took her photo on their honeymoon.
The bolt struck Stephany Lucero Elvir as she and Cristhian Samir Álvarez Molina were on the beach.
Witnesses described how the 23-year-old collapsed after the sky lit up in a violent flash.
Cristhian sustained serious injuries in the lightning strike on Saturday (5 Jul).

The pair were rushed to a local clinic, where he received emergency treatment but Stephany was pronounced dead.
The couple had tied the knot in a fairytale wedding the previous Saturday (28 Jun).
The tragedy in Omoa, Honduras, has left their family and friends devastated.
Stephany was from Tegucigalpa and worked as a pharmacist, as reported by Need To Know.

She held degrees from the National Autonomous University of Honduras and the Central American Technological University.
Mourners have described her as “intelligent”, “kind” and a “helpful girl with a big heart”.
The authorities had issued alerts about volatile weather conditions across the country over the weekend.
In the wake of the tragedy, they are urging members of the public to take extra precautions on beaches and in other open spaces.

A spokesperson for the Honduran Air Force, where Cristhian is a pilot officer, said: “We pray to the Divine Creator of the Universe for her eternal rest, and that the Almighty grants Christian comfort and strength to her family and friends.”
Cristhian’s current condition is unclear.
