A celebrity forester found a monster leech lurking in his shoe after a fishing trip.
Dawid Kontny removed his blood-soaked sock to reveal a nasty gash across his Achilles tendon.
He then reached into his Wellington boot and pulled out a palm-sized leech for the camera.

Dawid, who works in forest management, posted the clip on Saturday (13 Sept).
At the time, he had no idea his blood was being sucked.
“A leech bite doesn’t hurt; the substances in its saliva numb the area,” Dawid told Need To Know.
“I only noticed it after taking off my rubber boot, when my sock was bloodstained as shown in the video, and then I found a leech still attached inside the boot.

“Earlier, I thought it was just a bit of water getting into my boot causing the damp feeling, but in reality, it was my blood.”
Dawid often explores the plants, animals, fungi, and natural phenomena of northern Poland’s Tuchola Forest with his 61,000 followers.
He wrote online: “As a forester, I always warn people to check for bloodsucking ticks after returning from the forest.
“But it turns out that after fishing in shallow bogs with water up to your calves, you also need to watch out for bloodsucking creatures – this time not ticks, not mosquitoes, but leeches.”
Krystyna commented: “Yuck, disgusting.”
