A hero police officer jumped into a swimming pool in full uniform to save a drowning girl after she toppled in during a party.
The child had been walking along the edge of the adult pool when she slipped and plunged into the deep end.
CCTV caught the girl flailing and trying to stay afloat, as reported by Need To Know.
Officer Stefanny Zapata jumped into the water and rescued the child.
She carried her to safety and gave first aid until medics arrived.
Thankfully, the girl only suffered minor injuries.
The Antioquia Police Department in Colombia later praised the officer’s swift actions.
A police spokesperson said: “Thanks to the immediate intervention of Patrolwoman Stefanny, a little girl is safe today.
“Her gesture, which goes beyond the duties of her uniform, is a reminder that police service is based, above all, on the protection of life and love for the community.”
