A nature festival has issued a ‘no naturist’ plea after a mix-up resulted in dozens of nudists flocking to buy tickets.

Attendees wanting to turn up in their birthday suits will be politely denied entry to the event after nudists get the wrong idea.

The Cumbria Nature Festival has been flooded with inquiries from naturists forcing them to provide an “important clarification”.

The heads of the event stated the festival is aimed at “naturalists, not naturists”, as reported by Need To Know.

The three-day event kicking off on 8 May includes guided walks, workshops and conservation talks – for guests dressed “appropriately”.

For any nudists who bought tickets who are more interested in getting their kit off than connecting with nature, they have been offered a full refund.

An individual ticket from Friday to Sunday costs £32.52, while a family ticket is priced at £65.04.

The festival will take place at Rivendell, Stainburn, Workington.

A spokesperson for the Cumbria Nature Festival stated: “After a recent enquiry we need to clarify – Cumbria Nature Festival is primarily aimed at naturalists… not naturists.

“Whilst we aim to be as inclusive as possible, and certainly do not judge anyone, we are aiming the event at wildlife enthusiasts.

“Please do dress appropriately.

“And if anyone else has booked in error, please contact us immediately for a full refund.”

Members of the public were left in stitches by the plea.

One person said: “Gutted, I’ve just had a back, sack and crack wax in preparation.”

Another person said: “Refund requested.”

Someone else added: “Anniversary weekend ruined again, because you can’t bloody read.”

One person said: “What if we fall into both camps?”

Another person said: “I might as well cancel my waxing appointment then.”
