A six-year-old girl has died after tripping over her shoelaces in the playground.
Luna Jazmín Miqueo Cuello fell over and struck her head on a concrete bench.
She was on school break when she reportedly tripped on her untied shoelaces.

The young girl suffered fatal head injuries at the Nº 117 Islas Malvinas School in the city of Rosario, Argentina, last Friday (24 Apr).
Teachers told the family she stepped on her laces, but her father, Ricardo Miqueo, strongly disputed this version.

He claims that when he arrived at the director’s office, Luna was lying on the floor covered in blood on her side, yet her shoelaces remained tied with a double-knot exactly as he had fastened them that morning.
The family rushed her to the Victor J. Vilela Children’s Hospital where she received emergency treatment.
Sadly, Luna died from the severity of her injuries two days later (26 Apr).
In a heartfelt social media post, her father shared a photograph of him holding baby Luna alongside the song ‘Luciérnagas’ by Silvio Rodríguez and Milo J.

The message read: “Life will continue and you won’t return, I don’t see your face in the coffin, I see a being of light disappear.”
He expressed frustration at suggestions that his daughter was to blame.
“It makes you feel helpless that they lie about it and blame the girl,” he said.
Despite their grief, Luna’s family made the decision to donate her organs.
“We decided to donate her organs so that her love and her light continue to be present in other lives,” her father wrote.
“We chose for her story also to be an opportunity for life for others.”
He described Luna as “a profoundly joyful, witty girl, full of love, with a unique way of seeing the world” and thanked medical staff for their dedicated care.

The family also highlighted the need for safe play spaces for children.
“Children need to play, it is part of their nature, but we have the responsibility to provide them with safe spaces.”
Provincial education authorities have backed the school’s actions, confirming that teachers were supervising the playground at the time.
Justice officials are investigating the exact sequence of events, including the circumstances of the fall, response times, and overall safety conditions in the playground.
The school has remained closed for a period of mourning as the local community reels from the sudden loss, as reported by Need To Know.
Luna’s parents have asked that she be remembered for her vibrant life rather than the manner of her death.
Her organ donation is being hailed as a final act of generosity that will allow her “love to be multiplied” through helping other patients.
