Super fit gran who hits gym up to EIGHT hours every day says she gets asked out by men half her age

A super-fit gran who hits the gym for up to eight hours every day says she has to bat men half her age off.

Andrea Sunshine, 53, from London, religiously works out for a minimum of three hours a day – and has earned an incredible toned physique in the process.

The single grandmother-of-two warms up with an hour of cardio before she starts hitting the weights, which she says is like visiting her very own “Disneyland”.

Divorced Andrea says she doesn’t entertain men while working out as it upsets her strict routine, which involves at least three hours-a-day in the gym and has been known to go on for a whole eight hours.

And her commitment hasn’t gone to waste, as she has competed against women half her age in physique competitions, achieving a hat-trick of finishing in the top five.

“People call me a beast,” Andrea told Jam Press.

“Young men have a crush on good looking mature ladies so I get hit on all the time.

“There’s all kind of ages, there’s even some below 25 but most are between 30-35.

“I don’t like the attention. When I am on my session I hate to be disturbed.

“It doesn’t bother me to be called a fitness grandma – I am in my best shape and infinitely healthy.

“There is a stigma that with advancing age of women, they should only dedicate themselves to taking care of the home and family.

“It’s possible to do both.”

Andrea, who has dual Dutch-Brazilian nationality, swears by a healthy diet which sees her munching on broccoli daily alongside a tonne of vegetables with protein, sometimes reaching 3,500 calories.

But she steers away from sweet vegetables as well as salt and oil to keep herself trim.

The professional trainer and athletics coach not only teaches physical exercises to keep herself trim but is a great advocate for spiritual therapy too.

She added: “The mind has a very great power to transform our body, we cannot leave the mind aside.

“I go to the gym every single day, except if I am injured or am very sore from the previous session.”

To help other women, she posts her balanced exercise and healthy eating routine to her 53,000 followers on social media (@andrea__sunshinee).

Andrea said: “I always start with cardio – I can’t have a good performance without it – spinning is my favourite though.

“It depends of my daily routine and resistance, I try to spare enough time for, but on average I go for three hours. Sometimes it is five hours non-stop.

“My record has been eight hours but with breaks for some nutrition.”

And she says the key to keeping fit is a healthy diet, which she splits between six to eight meals throughout the day.

Andrea said: “I eat broccoli the most.

“But other key vegetables are green beans, little corn, eggs whites, cauliflower, yam, cabbage and spinach.

“I try to avoid sweet vegetables, like carrots and pumpkin. The only one I eat is sweet potatoes.

“Also drinking water is crucial. I drink at least 3-4 litres.”
