Story from Jam Press (Earphone In Bladder) Pictured: Plain pelvic X-Ray showing a semi-radio-opaque tubular shadow in the pelvis, as indicated by the arrows. Man gets 80cm earphone wire stuck in BLADDER – after using it while masturbating A man was left red-faced after getting an earphone wire stuck in his bladder – after using the object for “sexual pleasure” while masturbating. The 34-year-old was admitted to the emergency department of Dr Soetmo General-Acadmic Hospital in Surabaya, Indonesia complaining of stomach pains when urinating. Doctors were stunned when he revealed he had inserted an earphone wire into his urethra between 3-5 times a week while masturbating. The patient was tested but doctors found he had no psychotic symptoms, OCD, anxiety or depression. The bizarre action was “performed based on sexual pleasure and gratification”. He could not take the wire out when it became lodged in his bladder, which was “visible and quickly identified” by the team. The wire was coiled and fortunately had not attached to the bladder wall, and extraction was performed using grasping forceps. The earphone wire was found to be 2-3mm in size and 80cm in length. The patient was discharged the next day without any bladder residue, and was later diagnosed with polyembolokoilamania – the act of inserting foreign bodies into orifices such as the rectum and vagina. According to a medical journal published on Science Direct, he “showed no apparent psychotic behaviours and was mentally well”. The journal states: “Self-inserted urinary bladder foreign bodies for sexual gratification generate a significant challenge for physicians due to its difficult diagnosis and management. “Most patients were late to be admitted due to embarrassment leading to serious short-term and long-term complications. “We report a 34-year-old male with an earphone wire as a urinary bladder foreign body. “The findings in the patient were compared with the

“The findings in the patient were compared with the currently published reports through a comprehensive literature review to evaluate the current strategy for diagnosis and management for self-inserted genitourinary foreign bodies to achieve sexual pleasure.”
