A TikToker has gone viral after revealing how her former best friend allegedly tried to “sell her into slavery”.

In a video, which has racked up over 6.1 million views, Ana Vianey Martínez Lugo shares how her “sixth sense” saved her from becoming a victim of human trafficking.

Back in 2013, her best friend told her she had won the opportunity to take part in a student exchange in Spain and was able to take two friends along.

Excited to be picked, Ana began filling out the documents to jet off halfway around the world with her pal.

But when the then teenager was sifting through the personal data form, there was one big giveaway that untangled the web of lies.

Ana noticed one of the questions asked ‘Are you a virgin’, prompting her to tell her mum.

The next day the mum phoned up the school the two teenagers attended and was told the school exchange did not exist.

Ana’s mum visited her best friend’s family home, where she unravelled the plan while looking through her computer.

The girl’s boyfriend, who was older and had only been with her for a month, had allegedly threatened her to enlist young slaves or face harm to her family.

Seven years on from the betrayal, Ana has decided to share her close encounter with modern day slavery to warn others.

“I had no reason to not trust her,” she told Jam Press.

“We had been best friends since we were eight years old.

“She knew I would trust her.

“I felt like I was in a hole that everything was a dream that nothing that was happening was true, I couldn’t believe that my best friend had done that.

“I loved her very much and our relationship was always good and I couldn’t understand why she would allow any harm to me.

“When I read the question I thought it was a weird question to ask on a school form.

“I felt like something was wrong so I told my mum, who investigated.

“The whole thing has taught me having a huge heart makes us blind to the immense evil that exists in the world.

“No matter how much love we have for someone, never remove that thorn in your heart that makes you have sixth sense.

“Because that little feeling in any situation can a save life.

“Despite what my friend did it was wrong, I have tried to understand the situation from her point of view.

“It can’t have been easy to be with someone who was threatening your life and your family, all while you’re a minor.

“That is a crime.

“I’m just grateful nothing happened.”

Ana went viral after sharing her experience on her TikTok account (@dinosampk) detailing the near-trafficking incident.

The story has left social media users stunned with many commenting on having trust issues.

“You can not trust anyone,” wrote one user.

“The importance of googling everything,” added someone else.

A third TikToker user wrote: “They tell you not to trust strangers, what they don’t tell you is that you shouldn’t trust those you’ve known all your life either.”

“Literally no one can be trusted”, added a fourth viewer.

“With friends like that you don’t need enemies,” wrote another person.
