Slasher character Michael Myers has gone viral online after being spotted taking a stroll on a beach – leaving social media users in stitches.
The cosplayer was snapped enjoying the day on the beach at Panama City in Florida, US, while dressed as the serial killer from the Halloween movie series.
The images have gone viral online, with thousands of likes on Facebook, as some users call for the “police” to “investigate”.
“Dude dressed up like Michael Myers on the beach this morning,” wrote Todd Easter, who shared the snaps on 4 September, after spotting Myers enjoying the sunshine.
In the images, the cosplayer can be seen wearing black clothes while sporting the face mask associated with the horror film character.
One scary snap shows him staring straight at the camera.
Another image shows Myers walking near an erected beach canopy.
Thankfully, Easter says the character was on his best behaviour that day and wasn’t causing anyone any problems, adding that he even seemed approachable.
However, one beach-goer did seem quite spooked – and swiftly collected his things to leave.
“What’s up? Serial Killers like chillen & killin at the beach too man!,” wrote one user. [sic]
“So, if he approached you…,” wrote someone else.
“That’s awesome,” added another user.
“That’s hilarious!,” commented someone else.
“See everyone needs a lil beach R/R,” commented someone else. [sic]
“Just taking a stroll. Jeez. Can’t a killer enjoy the sunshine,” joked another user.
“He has too much sunscreen on his face!,” commented someone else.
Another person called for police action. “And what you Florida Police have done about it? Don’t wait until a massacre happens. At least do some investigation,” they wrote.
This actually isn’t the first time a person has dressed as Myers and taken a beach stroll.
In 2021, Mark Metzger, a lawyer from Galveston, Texas, was detained by police after wearing a mask and carrying a fake knife with ‘blood’ on it, while hanging out by the sea.
He was later cited for disorderly conduct and released.
