A family house has been mocked after estate agents used a kids’ drawing of the home to sell it – but there is a really cute reason why.

The detached, riverside four-bed house is on the market for £415,000.

The luxury pad has recently been completely renovated.

It includes a sleek modern kitchen, spacious living room and a new bathroom.

The property in Mexborough, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire is being sold by EweMove estate agents.

But prospective buyers can only see what it looks like from inside.

Weeks of bad weather in the area meant they were unable to take one of the outside.

But the seller’s granddaughter had recently drawn a beautiful picture of it so they used that instead.

The spokesperson said: “I thought it’s absolutely fantastic.

“We thought it can’t hurt.

“We decided to live it until the weather gets better.”

The house is also being advertised on Rightmove.

The listing reads: “A simply stunning detached family home both aesthetically speaking and in its versatility, and size.

“It’s not everyday you get to own the fairy-tale house with stunning views, private outdoor space, and oodles of charm and character located on a lofty perch on the banks of the River Don.

“Mexborough is a market town with a history dating back to the Domesday Book of 1086, with the suffix burh indicating a history as a fortified place.

“As you approach the private gated entrance, the footpath weaves around to the front right of the property, you’ll no doubt take a moment to simply stand back and admire the size of property on offer, and the glorious valley views behind you.

“Wholeheartedly recommend a little walk to the Ferryboat Wharf Footbridge – immerse yourself.

“Having being beautifully restored by the current owners since their purchase in 2019.
“Everything has been stripped back to brick, with the quality of finish and craftmanship there for all to see.

“A fine restoration, fit for the modern world and ready to tackle the challenges of soaring energy costs.

“Entering through the front porch into a wide hallway, the perfect place to take off those muddy boots, giving access to the beautiful living room off to the right and the kitchen, dining room to the left.

“The standard of finish to this beautiful home unveils itself immediately.

“A gorgeous self styled kitchen / dining grabs you by the coat tails and pulls you in.

“A space with a real wow factor.

“The staircase leads up to the first floor, where you will find three generous bedrooms, all of which are suited for a double bed.

“Outside there is plenty of quiet space to enjoy.

“Split between an attractive and social garden to the front, side patio and driveway leading to the garage at the rear.”
