Brummie goes viral finding '22ct gold ring' in meal deal crisp packet A man has gone viral claiming to have found a gold ring worth thousands inside a packet of Monster Munch crisps – but all is not as it seems. Taking to TikTok, Dion Kitson explains how he allegedly purchased a Tesco meal deal during his lunch break, including the savoury treat, when he found “another bag of the crisps inside the original packet”. Inside, the 28-year-old from Birmingham says he discovered a sparkling golden ring, shaped like a Monster Munch crisp. The TikTok has racked up 5.1 million views and 315,000 likes – leaving users baffled at the bizarre find. A man has gone viral claiming to have found a gold ring worth thousands inside a packet of Monster Munch crisps – but all is not as it seems.

One user joked: “Free knuckleduster with every pack.”

“I want this to be my wedding ring,” said another person.

“I would be so confused if I found brass buckles in my crisps,” someone added.

Another viewer asked: “This is real gold??”

“Not me going to the nearest store and buying the entire Monster Munch stock,” one viewer added.

Someone else commented: “If he don’t propose with one of these I’m saying no.” [sic]

The TikTok included a challenge for people to find a ring of their own – and users certainly seem eager to get their hands on such an unusual jewellery piece.

The whole thing is an elaborate prank, as Dion admits to NeedToKnow.co.uk.

The influencer, who originally uploaded the clip at the end of February, actually makes and sells the rings himself, sealing them within crisp packets and shelling them online for £100 a pop.

He said: “Walker’s make some of the best crisps known to mankind – the ring is an ode to such a great crisp.

“I’ve been making Monster Munch rings for three years now.

“They come sealed within crisp bags, I’ve sold around 350 to date, people have proposed with them and have them as wedding rings.

“The Walker’s challenges when I was a kid were incredibly exciting.

“Do you remember when you could find a fiver in a bag of crisps?

“The gold Monster Munch ring is a way for people to experience pickled onion nostalgia – I presented it as a Walker’s challenge for people to seek out trying to find one, the competition was a stunt.”
