Tired of ‘normal’ getaways? Well, you can now spend the night inside ‘The Boot’ – a shoe big enough to fit a giant.
Situated within the beautiful coastal town of Tasman, Nelson, New Zealand, comes this unique getaway that’s been designed with mystical creatures in mind.
Across the home, there’s one bedroom, one bathroom, an open fireplace, a Juliet balcony and a private courtyard.

For an extra treat, there’s also breakfast on offer that can be delivered straight to the giant tied laces – perfect to recreate the magical tale of the old woman who once lived in a shoe.
Upon entering the humble abode, the ample spaced living room is on display, featuring an ornate sofa, a dining table for two and a cosy log burner.
With curved walls and ceiling, the property feels intimate and offers an escape from the outside world.
Across from the spiral staircase, there’s also a kitchenette complete with a fridge, kettle and coffee maker, with larger meals found at the Jester’s Café on site.
Upstairs, a small, yet impressive bedroom awaits, with a comfy queen-sized bed and enough storage for shoes galore.
As you wake up, stunning views of the surrounding woodlands can be admired from the large window, which extends onto a small balcony.
In the bathroom, there’s a simple walk-in shower and all the necessary amenities needed to freshen up after a long day hiking in the countryside.

Outside, there’s another clay log burner, deck chairs and an al fresco dining area, perfect for those warm summer evenings.
The Boot, which was expertly created by a local artist, is an impressive piece of architecture that looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale.
Located only 35 minutes away from the Abel Tasman National Park, which offers sandy beaches and picturesque mountain scenery, you’re never far away from adventure.
There are also vineyards, museums, whale spotting and kayaking only a stone’s throw away.
Starting from £170 a night, the property, which can be booked on Host Unusual, is best enjoyed between May and September, where the morning sunshine will be ready with a wake-up call.
