An influencer has revealed the clever pose social media stars use to change their bodies – including a simple trick for hiding hip dips.
Danae Mercer Ricci, 36, has built up a following of 2.3 million followers on Instagram (@danaemercer), where she is an advocate for body positivity.
The influencer, who lives in Dubai but is originally from the US, recently shared a video showing how easily poses can completely change how our bodies appear online.

In the clip, she tests out the “classic influencer pose”, the ‘hip dip hider’.
She says: “Here’s how they’re posed away: 1. I’ve rotated my knees in.
“2. I’ve arched my back.
“3. I’ve tilted my chest forward.
“4. I’ve squeezed my bum cheeks.
“Like that, my hip dips are gone.”
But her message was firmly against this kind of manipulation, with her insisting “online doesn’t equal real”.
She said: “Hip dips are normal. And human. And healthy.
“And if you’ve got them? Great. It just means your hip joint sits in its socket in a certain way.
“Sometimes I like to flex and pose and pop.
“But more and more, I’m happy letting my hip dips wiggle and jiggle and exist as simply part of me.
“Because trends come and go. But self-love? That stuff is forever.”

The post garnered more than 17,000 likes from her fans.
Danae previously made headlines for sharing her “real body” after revealing how clever poses can completely transform her physique.
In the post, the mum-of-one shared a series of pictures showing how careful posing can make her body look different.
In side-by-side snaps showing Danae in a bikini, she is first seen facing away from the camera and posing, while an image taken the same day shows her sitting down with the camera at her side.
Danae also shared another picture in the same bikini, this time standing up with her back to the camera.

The influencer also posed in front of the mirror, once with her legs crossed and stomach held in, and the other in a more natural stance.
Finally, she showed the difference between standing up and sitting down, saying: “Maying she’s born with it, maybe it’s posing and a filter.”
