A woman was left baffled after a doctor operated on her WRONG knee.
Bianca Petermann Stoeckl went for surgery on her left one.
But the doc ended up doing the op on the right knee instead.
The blunder happened at the Unimed Hospital in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil.
Waking up from her surgery, civil servant Bianca realised that the wrong leg had been operated on and immediately filed a police report against the doctor involved.
“When I lifted the cover, my right knee was operated on,” said Bianca.
“I called the team and said ‘The doctor operated on my wrong leg’.”
Her right knee has since been left with a scar and a screw from an unnecessary plate after the op.
She has now had the procedure performed, this time on the correct knee.
The Regional Council of Medicine and police are investigating.
