Kara Southall, 40, has shared how you can spruce up festive candles using just three items and social media users have lapped it up – with the present costing just under £2.

The viral video, posted to the mum’s Instagram (@theonlywayis_pink) has racked up a whopping one million views and over 33,000 likes.
In the clip, Kara from Suffolk used a candle, greaseproof paper, a napkin and hairdryer to create a reindeer-printed candle, which she says will make the perfect gift.

“It was my first time doing it and [I] would definitely do it again for gift ideas,” Kara told http://Needtoknow.co.uk.
“Any napkins can be used so not just for Christmas.
“I honestly didn’t think it would work so I’m really pleased how it’s turned out.”
The mum created her cost-effective gift in just 30 minutes.
She sized up the napkin to the candle, and cuts it out, then repeats the same steps with a sheet of greaseproof paper.
Next, Kara removes additional layers of the printed napkin until she’s left with just the main layer.
She then wraps the greaseproof paper over the top and uses a hairdryer on medium heat to melt the wax.

Kara said: “Don’t leave[it] in one place too long.
“You just need it to warm the wax up, that then soaks the napkin.
“Once cooled the napkin is then stuck on the candle.”
Kara added that once your candle is complete, it should be used as decor only and never lit.
The only cost for the hack was the candle and napkins, 99p each from Home Bargains.
Social media users love the low-cost, low-effort hack.
One user commented: “Now going to find ALL OF OUR CANDLES TO FESTIVE THEM UP!! CAPITALS REQUIRED FOR MY EXCITEMENT.”
