A bride has left social media users shocked she refused to throw her wedding bouquet – claiming her single friends don’t need a man.
?Fátima Alvizo tied the knot just three days ago, and when she did, decided she was going to do something very un-traditional on the big day.
Sharing the post on TikTok (@falvizo ), it gathered over 836,000 views.
Grabbing a microphone and stepping onto the dance floor, she decided to give an impromptu speech to her guests.
Here she revealed that she wouldn’t be throwing the bouquet that night, and explained to her friends and family why.
“I thought a lot about my wedding and how to make it a celebration of love that could meet all the people I love,” she says.
“I don’t want to throw the bouquet because it seems to me that all the women in this place are complete.
“We have loving women, who don’t need to feel like they lack something, I love you all deeply and I know that you love me.
“At my cousin’s wedding, all the married cousins ??came to offer their condolences to my sister for being the only one of them not yet married.
“Truly good people are capable of doing that and more.
“Love between women is the most magical thing I have ever seen!”
After sharing her speech, the bride proceeds to call up some of the women invited to her wedding in Mexico City
She then gifts them, one by one, a flower from her bouquet.
The majority of them hug, while the song ‘Hasta la root’ was playing in the background, dedicated to Paulina, a friend of the bride who was no longer with her.
The post was captioned: “I didn’t want to throw the bouquet at my wedding,” and amassed over 120,000 likes and thousands of comments from followers who applauded the bride’s decision.
