“But we would love to buy a new house and go on holiday.”

Papa John’s pays delivery drivers around £12 per hour – which works out to £480 a week based on working 40 hours.

Per year, that adds up to a salary of £24,960.

Down-to-earth Marius, who lives with wife Alina and his family in Tamworth, Staffs won it in a BOTB prize draw.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have won and am full of emotions,” he added:

“Winning this amount of money is life-changing and it’s going to take some time to sink in.”

A BOTB spokesperson said: “Marius, who has been working as a pizza delivery driver for about four years and was back at work the next day.

“He was also planning to spend the money on a new home for him and his family.”

BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: “A huge congratulations to Marius on winning this amazing cash prize in our biggest-ever competition giveaway.

“We’re always looking at new ways to give people the chance to win some fantastic prizes, and it was great to be able to surprise Marius in the way we did.

“I know how hard it is for a lot of people at the moment and £500,000 is a life-changing amount of money.

“It has got to be the best tip any delivery driver has ever received.”
