Adidas fans are flogging their Samba trainers for low prices after Rishi Sunak was accused of “ruining” the popular shoe.
The Prime Minister issued a joke apology to fans for wearing the classic trainers.
Speaking to LBC Radio yesterday (10 April), he said: “I issue a fulsome apology to the Samba community.

”But, in my defence, I would say I have been wearing Adidas trainers including Sambas – and others, in fact – for many, many years.”
“The first pair my brother got for me many, many years ago – my first pair of fun Adidas trainers as a Christmas present.
”I haven’t looked back since. So I’ve been a longtime devotee.”
The hilarious apology comes after the Prime Minister paired the box-fresh trainers with a white shirt and suit trousers.
Sunak opted for classic white Sambas with black stripes.
He wore the questionable outfit in an interview at 10 Downing Street – where he discussed April 2024’s childcare changes, as reported by Need To Know.
But Adidas lovers were left horrified at his choice of footwear.
Some have even gone to great lengths to ditch their favourite shoes amid Sunak’s apology.
According to the site, the sellers have ‘newly listed’ their old trainers at a fraction of the price on eBay.
New Sambas cost £90 from Adidas’ website.
But one person, from Kings Lynn, Norfolk is selling his men’s size 9.5 pair for just £38.95.
“Good condition few marks,” the listing reads.
”Slight part of gold detailing on ADV has slightly worn off.”
Another trainer-lover from Liverpool is flogging a size 6 in pristine condition with its original shoe box.
They are available to buy for just £42 – less than half of what they’re worth new – or bids start from £25.
“Adidas samba trainers, great condition,” the listing reads.
“Being sold as not personal preference.”
Another person, from Coleraine, Ireland is selling a brand new pair with tags for just £34.99.
The size 3.5 shoes are in the classic white colour with black stripes – an exact match to Sunak’s pair.
Another set of new size 5.5 Sambas are being offered by a seller in Somerset for just £26.
The listing reads: “Adidas Samba 5.5.
”Condition is new with box.”
