Vanrlei had bought the white Volkswagen Gol just hours before smashing it through the side of a bridge on Tuesday night (9 April).
He plummeted about 10m (33ft) and landed with a huge splash in a river in São Joaquim, Brazil.
Firefighters were called to the scene and found the victim in the water by the submerged vehicle, as reported on Need To Know.
They dived in and pulled him out.
Emergency medics who also arrived on the scene managed to revive Vanrlei with CPR.

He was taken to hospital but he sadly died a short while later.
His aunt told local media: “He worked the afternoon to evening shift as a rubbish collector.
“He lived with his mother and was planning to take advantage of his break after dinner to show her the car.”
She went on to describe Vanrlei as a “cheerful, polite and hardworking boy”.
His motor was removed from the waterway on Wednesday afternoon (10 April).
Vanrlei will be laid to rest in São Joaquim today (11 April).
