A six-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after swallowing seven magnets.
The child was reported to have swallowed the items while playing with her cousin.
According to the medical report, the patient had been suffering from four days of abdominal pain, constipation, and a reduced appetite.

However, she had not vomited or displayed signs of a fever.
Concerned about her symptoms, her parents rushed the little girl to hospital, reports Need To Know.
An X-ray revealed a “linear metallic foreign body” inside the child’s small bowel.
During the extraction, surgeons discovered that the magnets were attached to each other.
The metal items had also perforated the child’s intestinal wall and obstructed her small bowel.
However, the patient was considered lucky, as swallowing magnets can lead to intestinal mechanical obstruction and intestinal perforation.
Patients can even develop peritonitis, which can end in death if not treated in time.
The incident took place in Brazil and was reported in a journal in April 2024.
