A sci-fi enthusiast has splurged £10,000 creating a Star Wars-themed bar in his backyard from the ground up.
Chester Walsh dedicated two months to constructing his ultimate home bar, drawing inspiration from his beloved film series.
The bar’s design is a homage to the iconic Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, the setting where fans first encounter Harrison Ford’s legendary character, Han Solo.
Chester, a die-hard Star Wars fan since his early twenties, has always been passionate about the franchise.
The garden bar measures 5.5 by 4.5 meters, featuring a spacious main room and a bar section where Chester can serve his friends drinks that are truly out of this world.
The 27-year-old Northampton resident initially invested £4,000 in a summerhouse cabin, which he then transformed into his dream setup.
The remaining £6,000 was spent on materials to construct the exterior and furnish the interior to match his vision.
Guests visiting the bar are welcomed by a droid bartender, adding an authentic touch to the venue’s theme.
Chester, who lives with his partner, shared with Need To Know: “It was a huge relief to complete it.
“Although it’s not entirely finished, with some minor adjustments and additional features planned for the future.
“For now, the main cantina project is complete, and any further modifications are seen as separate projects or mini-projects in my mind.
“Initially, I envisioned it as a ship but struggled to find a suitable base with rounded walls and a durable, cost-effective overall shape.
“Eventually, I decided a summer house cabin would be the perfect base to replicate the galaxy’s edge buildings.”
Chester, a former law firm employee turned prop maker, added: “The entrance doorway turned out really cool and significantly enhances the overall look.
“Palpatine’s Mural serves as a large central art piece, contributing to the ‘high-end’ cantina vibe with in-world collectors’ items.
“Interestingly, I wasn’t into Star Wars as a child, despite my love for superheroes, comic books, and space-themed decorations like glow-in-the-dark stars on my ceiling.
“It wasn’t until my early twenties that I fell in love with Star Wars, and now it’s unquestionably my favorite franchise.”
