It’s unclear how long she battled the disease before passing away.

The presenter leaves behind a husband and two children.Llorente graduated in journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2008 before joining CNN+.

Fellow news reporter Inés García paid tribute to Llorente during a live broadcast, as reported by NeedToKnow.

She said on air: “We will always, always remember you and we will always love you.

“We will remember you for that beautiful smile you had, that strength and that passion we all saw.”

A spokesperson for the PRISA media group said: “Our colleague Elsa Llorente, a journalist from Cadena SER’s Economics department, has left us.

“We will never forget her smile, her friendship and her passion for her family and journalism.

“Elsa was a special person, good, cheerful, beautiful.

“All these adjectives are too small for a person who, during her convalescence, was only upset about not being able to go on the radio to report on news about the job market.”
