A mum-of-three influencer has been hospitalised in a serious condition after experiencing complications during childbirth.
Juliana Perdomo developed an amniotic fluid embolism as she gave birth to her third child.
This is when fluid leaks into the mother’s blood vessels during labour, causing a blockage.

It is rare, but the mortality rate is high and survivors risk long-term neurologic symptoms.
The complication caused Juliana, 34, to experience cardiopulmonary deterioration in the delivery room on Friday (26 Jul).
She was treated and later transferred from Iporá, west of Brasilia, Brazil, to a larger facility in Goiânia, where she remains intubated.
She has since developed acute respiratory distress syndrome from fluid accumulating in her lungs.
Juliana’s delivery was scheduled during week 39 of pregnancy.
She had not experienced any complications thus far and had no history of heart or pulmonary disease.
Her other children were born without complications, as reported on Need To Know.
Juliana’s newborn son, Zac, is healthy and is at home awaiting her return.
Her condition remains serious, but her family revealed yesterday (29 Jul) that she had shown some progress in her cardiac and pulmonary functions.
Her sister Tatiana wrote: “She had a very good night. That’s already a huge victory for her.”
Juliana boasts 1m Instagram followers, with whom she shares her culinary creations, home management tips, and family routine.
She also boasts 567,000 subscribers on YouTube.
Her relatives said in a statement: “The family is confident in the influencer’s full recovery and is grateful for all the love and prayers from everyone.”
