An influencer has dished the dirt about how her footy-themed lingerie ruined a steamy evening with her date.
Ravena Hanniely has over 266,000 followers on Instagram, where she has recently spoken out about a date she had while in England.
Not realising her date was a die-hard Liverpool fan, the 23-year-old decided to wear Manchester United-branded underwear for the occasion.
The pair had a lovely dinner before heading back to his place, where things started to heat up.
But as Ravena took her clothes off, her date suddenly lost his mojo.
The Brazilian had underestimated just how serious the British nation takes its football.
“He lost his mood because I was wearing Manchester United underwear,” Ravena told Need To Know.
“We had already been out a few times and he always seemed like a very interesting and kind guy.
“I’m a sports and football fan, and that day, without thinking much, I decided to wear underwear with my team’s logo, something I’ve worn plenty of times before.
“Things were heating up but when I undressed he just stopped and stared at me.
“I thought, ‘What’s happened now?’
“Then he said, a bit awkwardly, ‘Are you wearing Manchester United underwear?’
“At the time, I didn’t realise how serious it was, I just thought it was funny that he noticed.
“He was completely stunned, almost as if he had been struck by lightning.
“The magic of the moment was gone and I was annoyed with him.”
The fierce rivalry between Liverpool and the Red Devils killed the mood, leaving Ravena feeling frustrated in more ways than one.
In an effort to showcase her love for her team, the influencer took her revenge in a very special way.
She said: “So, when I got home, I posted a picture of myself [on Instagram] wearing a Manchester United shirt and the same underwear.
“I couldn’t stop laughing.
“Imagine his face when he saw the Manchester United logo.
“It was like I had committed a crime but who would have thought that a simple detail on lingerie could have that effect.
“He messaged me, trying to explain, saying it had nothing to do with me, but it was hard for him to get over that rivalry.
“He even suggested we try again but with one condition – that I don’t wear anything related to Manchester United.
“I’ve learned that football might be more serious than I imagined for some people.
“But you know what? I
“ think I’ll keep wearing my Manchester United underwear with pride.
“I’ll just have to be more careful about which fans I date.”
Social media users – and Man U fans – have come out in droves to support the influencer.
“You looked great in your Manchester shirt, my friend,” said one person.
“She is just too perfect,” added someone else.
“This rivalry is huge, but him staying like this because you’re rooting for another team is funny,” added another person.
Others decided to tag the Manchester United account or shared their thoughts through emojis.
