A heartbroken mum lost her husband and three kids in a horror crash involving an 18 tonne, anti-aircraft military vehicle.
Mirjana Lazovic survived the smash.
But her husband Danijel – who was in the army – and their three kids – aged ten, seven and one – died.
Their neighbour Dijana Kutlacic were also killed instantly.
Mirjana Lazovic survived with serious injuries, but it took rescue workers nearly two hours to extract her from the front passenger seat.
They had to use cranes to lift the military vehicle off the car and then they had to cut through the mangled wreckage.
The 32-year-old was taken to hospital and is now recovering at home.
Horror snaps taken in the aftermath of the tragedy shows how the 18 tonne vehicle crushed the car to a pulp.
The car was dragged onto the roadside on Saturday (21 Sept) after the military vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and ran it over.
The accident happened in the Serbian village of Bojanici between Kraljevo and Raška.
The family and Dijana, 27, were heading to the Studenica Monastery at the time.
The soldier driving the military truck was in shock when he was taken into custody by the police in Kraljevo.
At first, the 54-year-old exercised his right to remain silent, as reported by Need To Know.
However, after two days, he was taken to the prosecutor’s office, where he gave a statement.
He recalled feeling unwell moments before the accident and he said he couldn’t remember anything after that.
Local media say he had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.20 per cent at the time of the accident.
The military vehicle he was driving was a Pasars-16 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun and missile system, according to reports.
It is more than 12 times heavier than the Ford Focus the family and their neighbour were in.
Danijel, 33, was a member of the Serbian Army and worked at the barracks in Raška.
Originally from Novi Pazar, he had moved to Raška with his family a few years ago after getting a job in the army.
Local media identify his deceased children as 10-year-old LL, seven-year-old LL, and one-year-old ML.
The children and their dad will be laid to rest today (24 Sept).
