An ambulance happened to be passing through the area at the time, and paramedics gave her first aid on the spot.
She was then taken – in critical condition – to a hospital, where she died from a traumatic brain injury.
The driver who hit her on the streets of Suresnes, near Paris fled the scene but was identified, arrested and taken into custody.
He tested negative for both alcohol and drugs, according to reports.
Fernanda’s husband, Pedro Angelo, learnt about the accident through a notification on his phone.
The digital watch his wife was wearing to track her workout notified him about what had happened.
The couple had moved to France from their native Brazil in 2018 to pursue master’s degrees.
After graduating in management and international trade, Fernanda found work in the luxury industry, and the couple stayed.
Her devastated sister, Aline, told Brazilian media that her organs had been donated.
She said: “This was incredibly important to her. She was a blood donor and was registered as a bone marrow donor.
“A person of remarkable kindness and compassion.”
Fernanda spoke three languages and had 51,500 Instagram followers at the time of writing.
She used social media to give low-cost tips and create “unique” itineraries in Paris.
She also had a website, “Paris low-cost”, aimed at Portuguese speakers living in or visiting the French capital.
Fernanda had taken part in several marathons, as reported by Need To Know.
A condolence message shared to her account said: “Fe has left us. She had an accident doing one of the things she loved most: running.”
She will be cremated, and her ashes will remain in her beloved Paris, which she had made her home.
