A professional escort has revealed how she loves her job, but that it is not just about the sex – as some may think.
Jade Blair is a sex worker, meaning she exchanges sexual services for money, something that is legal in the UK, some areas of Australia and a few states in the US.
The 26-year-old has been in her job for almost seven years and started in a brothel.
But now, she has made her own way in the world of sex work, and says it is much more than just the intercourse.
“What a lot of people don’t realise is that the job actually is much more than the sex,” Jade, from Queensland, Australia, where the job is legal, told Need To Know.

“Clients expect a lot more these days.
“They want to have an emotional connection with us and therefore want to know a lot more about our personality and lives.
“It means we need to do a lot more than just putting up an advert.
“We all have social media profiles that need to be updated daily.
“We also have to deal with client enquiries, I can get anywhere from two texts to 50 a day.”

Jade also says she has had to learn how to de-escalate a client when they are upset, either at her or “trauma dumping.”
She said: “I am now able to control conversations without a client realising, so that you can bring it to a natural close when the session is at an end.
“We don’t want to just interrupt clients midst to kick them out because their time is up.

“I am also able to read body language and understand when someone is interested in something sexually.
“Making people feel comfortable when they are incredibly nervous.”
Jade now works for and by herself, running her own business.
She said: “I love my job. It certainly has a lot of perks.
“I don’t have to wear pants to work and I get orgasms on the clock.

“But my favourite things are definitely the people I meet.”
Jade claims she has learned things she didn’t think she would have in other jobs.
She said: “I have learnt so much about different cultures religions and just different people’s perspectives.
“I love hearing my client stories and listening to them share their lives with me.

“I also love being the person that brings joy and happiness.
“I find this quite fulfilling being able to bring so much joy to people’s lives.”
Amazingly, her original career path was going to be law.
She said: “Although I finished both my degrees, I found that I didn’t like the work as much as I thought I would.

“I started sex work because I was working an above minimum wage full time job, yet I was still struggling to save up for and afford a mortgage on a starter home.
“I realised I needed to do something different.
“Something could earn me more money so I could get a house.
“But I wanted a job that I would also enjoy.”
But no matter how much bonking she does, she still enjoys sex.

She said: “I absolutely love it and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
“I don’t think sex in itself is bad.
“Just like anything it can be positive or negative.
“It’s all in how we go about doing it.
“Thankfully, I am fully booked out, so I often don’t feel like I need to seek out sex outside of my clients.

“But if the opportunity arose, I wouldn’t say no if it was with someone I was interested in.”
And she plans on doing her job until she can’t anymore.
She said: “I love my job.
“For some people sex work is just a transitionary job a job they do for a few years until they are able to do their career of choice.
“For others like me, we are career whores.
“I love my job so why on earth would I change it.”
