A shocking clip shows the moment a drunk driver ploughs into a supermarket causing serious damage.

The Honda City spun in the opposite direction, collided with another vehicle, and then hit the store.

According to police, when they arrived at the scene, the man showed signs of intoxication.

He did not travel alone and was with one passenger.

Neither were seriously injured, and luckily, the store was empty at the time.

The owner of the supermarket has revealed that the structure has sustained extensive damage as well as the doors, freezers, and the products.

Damages have totalled around two million Brazilian Reals (260,600 GBP).

Currently, there is no reopening forecast for the ‘Ao Gosto Carnes’ supermarket.

The crash occurred at around 4:30 am on 30 November.

It took place on Silva Lobo Avenue, in the Nova Suíssa neighbourhood, Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

After the accident, the man was sent to the DMV, and his car was removed from the scene by a trailer.

Those responsible for the supermarket also have said that high-value products were affected, such as exotic and noble meats, as reported by Need To Know.

All will be discarded because of thawing and the risk of having been hit by glass shards.

The store is closed indefinitely and the lawyers informed that they will take appropriate measures against the driver of the car that caused the accident.
