A man was trapped in a well for three days after locals mistook him for a shouting ghost.

Liu Chuanyi had been walking round a forest when he fell into the 12-metre-deep hole.

The 22-year-old was trapped in the tight space for days, all the while shouting for help, as reported by Need To Know.

Concerned locals believed the faint screams to be that of a spirit in the woods and say they stopped going outside after dark.
