An influencer, suffering from common cold symptoms, was left shocked after doctors found a metal spring in her lungs that she claims was left over from a previous surgery.
Ekaterina Badulina was running a fever with chills and a runny nose, but her condition soon worsened.
The 34-year-old, who has over 31,900 Instagram followers, worried that it had developed into pneumonia and rushed to hospital.

Once in the emergency room, doctors ordered an X-ray that revealed a shocking – and terrifying – discovery, as reported by Need To Know.

“They got me in for a lung X-ray,” said Ekaterina.
“After taking the image, doctors suddenly rushed over to me.
“It turns out that in the picture the doctors saw some kind of metal spring measuring 5×16 mm, which was in the lung.”
The influencer was rushed for a CT scan to get a clearer view of the foreign object.

Doctors believe that the metal spring was left over from a previous surgery.
When she was 27, Ekaterina had 33 shunts placed in her leg after suffering a thromboembolism.
The Russian influencer told local press on 16 December: “After all the examinations, they said that a spring had moved in my body from a past operation through the bloodstream which, apparently, I didn’t even feel.

“They said that I could die at any second.”
“[A few years ago], I was driving when I suddenly felt pain in my legs, stomach and shortness of breath.
“It turned out that I had a thromboembolism, which is an acute blockage of a blood vessel by a blood clot that has come off from its place of formation and entered the circulating blood.
“Miraculously, I managed to survive.
“I underwent about 20 operations over the course of a year.”

She was shocked upon hearing that a metal coil had travelled to her lung but is determined to stay positive while she awaits next steps.
Ekaterina added: “After hearing it had moved I had to take control of my thoughts and emotions.
“Focusing only on optimism, not fear and despondency.

“Anyone can die at any second, no one knows what will happen to them tomorrow.
“And that is the attitude to live with.”
