Officials from the State Attorney General’s Office and Public Ministry later took charge of the investigation and the safeguarding of the skull.
The authorities are carrying out forensic tests on the human remains to try to identify the victim.
They have yet to announce the results of the forensic examination as the investigation continues.
It remains unclear whether the dogs came across a dead victim in the street or dug up the remains from a nearby cemetery, as reported by Need To Know.
