A doctor has claimed that vaping could make men infertile.
Dr Neena Chandrasekaran specialises in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
She shares her expertise on TikTok, where she has 153,000 followers, under the series name ‘Things they don’t tell you’.
In a recent video that has gone viral, the 34-year-old shares how vaping – which has risen rapidly in popularity in the past few years – could impact a person’s fertility.
“Vaping has been shown to have a negative impact on both male and female infertility,” Dr Chandrasekaran told Need To Know.

“Within male fertility, this includes reduced sperm count, reduced sperm quality and reduced sperm motility.
“This can make it difficult for a woman to conceive.
“This can even lead to DNA damage and some studies have shown that male partners that do vape while conceiving with their wives or significant others or partners have been linked to various intellectual or mental challenges and disabilities including autism.
“Because vaping has harmful toxins that can lead to DNA damage within the sperm.
“Vaping can also cause a hormonal disruption, which is a decrease in testosterone in the male.
“Vaping also induces a testicular cancer risk due to the antioxidants and free radicals that are released within the inhalation of the particles found within the vape itself.
“Trying to stop smoking and quitting vaping within seven to 90 days allows for sperm optimisation.”
The video has racked up hundreds of likes and plenty of comments from viewers.
