An actress has died of cancer just days after filming a TV drama.
Zhu Yuanyuan passed away peacefully aged 51 on Saturday (17 May).
Her husband, Chinese actor Xin Baiqing, posted an obituary on social media today (21 May).

He said: “During her near five-year-long battle with cancer, she was never pessimistic or depressed.
“Instead, she faced difficulties with firm resolve and confidence, and conveyed her love for life to everyone around her through laughter and warmth.

“She used this way to remind her family not to waste a single day and live for every second.”
He added: “Believe me, she has gone where she wanted to go.”
Chinese actress Zhao Liying posted on Weibo: “Sister Yuanyuan, I will always miss you.”
They will appear together in the upcoming drama ‘The City Maker’, as reported by Need To Know.

Zhu had finished filming the series just 16 days before her death.
She graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing in 1997.
Her works include ‘The Happy Life of Talkative Zhang Damin’, ‘A Little Red Flower’, and ‘My Sister’.
She starred alongside martial arts star Jet Li in the movie ‘Ocean Heaven’ in 2010.

During her career, she won the Best Actress Award at the 26th Golden Rooster Awards, Chinese cinema’s most prestigious honour.
She also won Best Supporting Actress at the 34th Golden Rooster Awards, and the 36th Hundred Flowers Awards.
