The motorist was reported for driving a motor vehicle in a dangerous condition.
It happened on the M11 which runs right through Essex, from South Woodford in north London, to Cambridge.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We didn’t realise we’d have to explicitly say this.
“But driving on the M11 with a fridge, a mattress and an outdoor foldable table all held by a very thin rope is not safe.
“Please don’t do it.”

They added: “This driver has been reported for driving a motor vehicle in a dangerous condition.
“Seriously though, road safety is no joke.
“Please, please don’t take a risk by putting yourself and others at risk.”
Locals reacted in shock to the foolish load, as reported on Need To Know.
Kim Guest quipped: “Was the fridge loaded with food for the picnic they were on their way too?

“Essex Police spoil another family day out.”
Andy Bell said: “Well I bet that was a frosty conversation.”

Dan Cockett joked: “You say it’s not safe but it hasn’t fallen off.”
