A reality star has died aged 30 after suffering from an eating disorder.
Nihal Candan, who had 930,000 followers on Instagram, had been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa, a condition that involves a person feeling as though they need to keep their weight as low as possible.
The Turkish TV personality and influencer had reportedly dropped to just 23kg after losing nearly 37kg in the last two years.

While undergoing treatment in hospital on Friday (20 Jun), her heart stopped and doctors were unable to revive her.
The 30-year-old reportedly grew extremely thin after she spent a short time in prison.
In 2023, she and her sister Bahar Candan were arrested on charges of fraud and money laundering, allegedly connected to a scam involving discounted vehicle sales.
During her time in prison, Nihal developed severe anorexia nervosa.
Her condition prompted an early release in early 2025 on health grounds.
Since returning home, the TV personality had a difficult time with her health and spent time in hospital.
Family and friends pleaded for her to get help but she refused care, as reported by Need To Know.
According to local press, her organs had failed and caused her heart to stop on two occasions prior to her death.
Earlier this month Bahar revealed that her sister had been hospitalised, writing on social media: “My sister was taken to the hospital, she has anorexia – do something, my sister is dying.
“She could not digest what she experienced. I hope you can feel remorse for slandering a young person like this and ruining her life.”
Nihal’s mother had previously claimed that her daughter’s diet consisted of drinking soda and coffee.
It is reported that her health had become so bad that by mid-June of this year, she needed a guardian to make medical choices.
Nihal, who was born in Mersin, which is located on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, east of Antalya, shot to fame on the reality TV competition Bu Tarz Benim.
Since the news of her death broke, her followers have taken to her Instagram page to express their sadness.
Burcu said: “Rest in peace Nihal. I’m not a fan but the sudden death of a young person shook me a lot. Condolences to all her loved ones’ families.”
Özlem said: “Rest in peace, so sad she was so young.”
“There are no words to say, I don’t know what to say, I am so sad. May God rest his soul,” added Yasin.
Uliçka said: “This girl’s death hit me so bad.”
“As someone who lived and recovered from this, your death hurt me so much. Rest in peace Nihal. It’s hard to say goodbye to this world,” Aleyna added.
