A selfless bodyguard was hit and killed by a car after stopping to help a driver in trouble.
Cosimo Magro and his girlfriend, Alessia, were returning home from a night out when they noticed a vehicle off the road.
He pulled over to offer assistance.

Some of their friends were in a black Fiat 500, which had hit the crash barrier after the driver lost control.
Cosimo, 25, and Alessia, who was driving, got out – but they were struck by a third vehicle at around 6am on Saturday (1 Nov) in Bari, Italy.
Alessia was injured and taken by emergency services to a nearby hospital.
Tragically, responders were unable to save Cosimo.
The driver of the car that hit them, who stopped immediately after the collision, has been registered as a suspect and is under investigation for vehicular manslaughter.
Cosimo lived in Palombaio di Bitonto with his mother and grandmother, as reported by Need To Know.
He worked in the slot machine and gaming hall rental sector and occasionally worked as a bodyguard.
He spent much of his free time at the gym, often sharing photos of his sculpted physique on social media.
He was also a passionate animal lover, regularly posting pictures with his pets and sharing adoption appeals for cats and dogs in need.
He is also survived by his father.
Bitonto mayor Francesco Paolo Ricci paid tribute: “This morning we woke up to tragic news. A son of our city lost his life while performing an act of generosity and selflessness.”

Buongiorno la notizia non è del tutto corretta,Cosimo abitava a Bitonto e non a Palombaio … il ragazzo della 500 nera ,che Cosimo si è fermato per soccorrere, non era un suo amico, era uno sconosciuto ,non sapeva neanche come si chiamava…e la ragazza Alessia non è rimasta ferita ,e non è stata portata assolutamente in ospedale…l unico a rimetterci la vita è stato Cosimo il mio adorato nipote… il suo essere troppo buono gli è costato caro.. aveva una vita intera ancora da vivere,e tante cose e sogni ancora da realizzare…. ma purtroppo Cosimo non potrà più farle ,xké non esiste più…
