An artist has carved a breathtaking giant reindeer into a snowy beach.
It is a bold bid to stop live displays using the animals this Christmas.
Campaigning beach artist Fred Brown created the huge sand masterpiece complete with the message “we are not yours” etched beside it.

The striking artwork is part of a push by animal charity OneKind, working alongside Animal Aid, Born Free and Freedom for Animals, to stamp out festive events that use real animals.
The group says 218 events that previously used live creatures have now switched to animal-free alternatives.
A OneKind investigation also found 75% of reindeer at eight UK festive shows showed “stress indicators”.
Fred’s piece was done on Friday (21 Nov) on Scarborough beach, North Yorkshire.
It is aimed to shine a spotlight on the issue as the Christmas season gets into full swing, as reported by Need To Know.
The 54-year-old said: “A winter wonderland in Scarborough.

“Snow and a sand art reindeer on the beach.
“With snow on the ground around here it was appropriate to see this reindeer quietly protesting on Scarborough beach.”
Locals flocked to praise the impressive artwork.
One person said: “Absolutely amazing.”
Another added: “Who would have thought you could add real snow? You can do magic.”

One local commented: “As someone who draws stick figures I find this stuff incredible.”
And another person added: “Great message.
“Thanks for standing up for animals, they shouldn’t be used for entertainment in this day and age.”
But not everyone was convinced by the creature’s accuracy.
One person said: “Reindeer have fluffy feet and noses, and much thinner antlers.

“Looks more like a Red.”
