A stunt influencer was shot dead on his motorbike during a cop chase.
The police said Ruan Carlos da Silva Morais, better known online as Cearense, fired at them first.
The 18-year-old was riding his motorbike with his 16-year-old girlfriend at the time.
In a statement, police said they received a complaint against a group of people filming motorcycle content on the street.
During the patrol, officers saw the couple speeding on the motorbike and ordered them to pull over.
When they allegedly refused, the cops gave chase through the streets of Maracanaú in northern Brazil.
According to the police, the rider fired a gun at the pursuing cops during the chase and they “responded to the aggression to ensure legitimate self-defence”.
Ruan was reportedly hit in the neck, as reported by Need To Know.

He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the kerb.
Ruan died at the scene yesterday (25 Nov).
Nearby, police found a .38 calibre revolver with spent and unspent ammunition.
His girlfriend was reportedly shot in the shoulder and was taken to a hospital in downtown Fortaleza where she remains under police supervision.
The police said Ruan had a history of reckless driving offences and had just been released from his most recent arrest.
The stunt influencer had 475,000 Instagram followers and four million followers on Kwai.
The investigation is ongoing.
