Inside, they found a man wedged in the destruction after being caught in the blast.
They managed to carefully free him and lead him to safety, as reported by Need To Know.

Atlanta PD said: “Officers moved quickly to check for injured persons as a strong odour of gas remained in the area.
“They heard yelling from the building, indicating someone was still trapped inside the rubble.”
“The male appeared to have sustained several burns on his body.
“Officer Roulhac, with the assistance of a MARTA PD officer Terry Johnson, ushered the man to safety away from the debris and fire.
“Officers remained with the victim until Grady EMS arrived on scene.”
Authorities say the explosion was caused after someone broke into a vacant unit to steal copper.
They lit a fire which ignited built-up gas and caused the massive blast.
The incident happened at 445 Markham Street, Atlanta, US, near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
No arrests have yet been made.
